Rebekah Dinwoodie is the Head of School of both the Business and Computing Schools at EIT. She returned to EIT in June 2015, however, previously she had worked in various roles at the institute over a period of ten years. Originally employed in 2002 as a programme coordinator for equine studies, she was seconded to the academic quality team and then later appointed programme leader in the School of Applied Science.
Seeking more external experience, she left EIT in 2012 to take up the position of Hawke’s Bay manager for an agricultural training centre. She was soon made responsible for all the educator’s regional sites, managing campuses in Northland, the Waikato, the Manawatu, Taranaki, Auckland and Invercargill as well as Hawke’s Bay.
Throughout that time, she maintained links with EIT – not only was she based on EIT’s Hawke’s Bay campus, she also continued to chair the institute’s animal ethics committee.
Rebekah’s master's thesis focused on Governance, she is a member of the Institute of Directors and is a Board Trustee of the Family Violence Intervention and Prevention Charitable Trust. Rebekah is also a Director of Motorgear Ltd, a family business which imports motorcycle helmets and apparel from Europe and Asia and sells them in New Zealand and Australia.
In her spare time Rebekah runs an equine agistment business and enjoys horse riding, running and she has recently completed her first ultramarathon.
Rebekah is a former secondary school teacher and is originally from the UK. She now lives with her husband and two young children in Hastings
