Kate, originally from the UK, settled in Hawkes Bay in early 2008 and in March 2015, married a kiwi, Vaughan.
With over 18 years’ experience in senior leadership positions in a variety of private organisations covering banking, breweries, dairy and transport, Kate joined the District Health Board in 2008. Kate’s, current role as Executive Director of People & Quality is all about ensuring that the people that provide the care to our community have the right skills, support and opportunities to grow in their roles and beyond. This then ensures that they continue to provide top quality, safe care to our patients and community – for Kate, it’s all about putting people at the centre of everything we do.
Kate’s aim is to really make a difference to the health and well-being of every staff member and consumer who comes into contact with health services in Hawke’s Bay. It’s a challenging role and no day is ever the same but it’s exciting, evolving and it keeps Kate satisfied.
Kate’s area of expertise is in leadership, organisational development, quality improvement, human resources and transformational change.
This is Kate’s third year as a judge on the awards and she is keen to add value with the other judges to recognise business excellence in Hawke’s Bay.
