Stewart Taylor is the Managing Director of Tomoana Warehousing Ltd, a family business based in Hastings with Transport, Warehousing and Logistics activities. This company operates warehousing in Hastings and Tauranga with subsidiaries in Christchurch and Dannevirke and has more than 60 Trucks and 100 staff operating nationwide.
Stewart has an active role in the development of the Tomoana Food Hub, which is a property development in Hastings that caters for the food industry sector by way of design, build and leaseback facilities. He is also a Director and Shareholder of Aquafortus, a Low Energy Osmosis startup that is presently developing its novel technology and in 2017 was a regional finalist for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Stewart studied at Massey University, following which worked for the Dairy Research Institute in Palmerston North. Subsequently, he worked in a number of operational and business development roles within Tomoana Warehousing and became the MD in 2006. The company has experienced significant growth since this time.
Stewart completed the Icehouse Owner Manager Program in 2011 and has continued using the Icehouse for Professional Development. He was a board member of the HB Chamber of Commerce for 1 term from 2013 to 2015.
Stewart has been a regular competitor in Motor Rallying, competing in the National Championships for a number of seasons, and has an active interest in outdoor adventure sports, particularly mountain biking and snow skiing. These pastimes are now being overtaken by the needs of a young family.
