Dr Jonathan Sibley

Jonathan is originally from the Hawke’s Bay. His career has taken him to roles in Australia, the UK, the Pacific, SE Asia, Africa and the Middle East. After many years away he has recently returned to Hawke’s Bay. 

Jonathan’s career was initially in banking. In 2001 he decided to change career and completed a PhD.  His doctoral research examined the extent to which bringing banking services to people in developing countries helps improve their lives. This led to his involvement with the United Nations Development Programme and the World Bank. He has also worked in universities in New Zealand and Australia. 

At EIT Jonathan is an Associate Professor and is responsible for the School of Business postgraduate programmes as well as being an active researcher and research mentor.
