DENISE QUINLAN

DENISE QUINLAN

Denise is Director of the NZ Institute of Wellbeing and Resilience and has lectured on strengths and positive psychology around the world.

As the only trainer from Australia/New Zealand selected to deliver the University of Pennsylvania’s ground breaking Penn Resiliency Programme, she has worked alongside Prof. Martin Seligman and Dr. Karen Reivich training educators in wellbeing and resilience at leading schools in Australia and the UK (Geelong Grammar School, St Peter’s Adelaide and Wellington College).

Denise has researched and worked extensively in wellbeing development in state and private education over the past decade in New Zealand, Australia, and the UK. She shares that experience in The Educators’ Guide to Whole-school Wellbeing, co-authored with fellow NZIWR Director, Dr Lucy Hone (2020). Her work has been published in international academic journals and edited volumes on positive psychology, wellbeing in education, and restorative practices.

NZIWR’s strengths programmes draw on Denise’s validated strengths programme, demonstrated to enhance wellbeing, engagement and relatedness in New Zealand students. She is particularly interested in culturally responsive wellbeing in Aotearoa and local and indigenous strengths. As an adjunct Professor at the IE University, Madrid she has also taught strengths-focused leadership to business leaders from around the world.

DR. ALEX BARTLE

DR. ALEX BARTLE

Dr Bartle has been a General Practitioner for over 30 years and has a Masters degree in Sleep Medicine (Sydney University). Dr Bartle is a member of the Australasian Sleep Association and has been an invited speaker at their international conferences.

Dr Bartle has presented research at the World Federation of Sleep Research Congress, is actively involved in developing Sleep Medicine education programmes for GP’s in Australia and New Zealand and is the NZ representative on the Asia Pacific Paediatric Sleep Association. 

Dr Bartle continues to research sleep disorders, lecture to national and international conferences, and publish on sleep issues. He regularly presents seminars to many NZ wide interest groups including government organisations and industry.

SIMON GAULT

Simon Gault is one of the leading lights in New Zealand’s culinary scene. Simon is a chef and restauranteur that has worked both in New Zealand and internationally at a vast array of establishments including Leiths restaurant in London and at the prestigious, Michelin-starred Thornbury Castle. He has also formally been the personal chef to the likes of billionaire Oracle CEO Larry Ellison, and prior to that, personal chef to Simon Fuller. Simon is a global culinary superstar who has a remarkable talent for bringing together tastes and techniques from around the world. When asked what his favourite recipe was, Kevin Roberts, Worldwide CEO of Saatchi and Saatchi, replied ‘Simon Gault’s telephone number’.
