PAN PAC Hawke’s Bay Business Awards presented by the Hawke’s Bay Chamber of Commerce was another outstanding showing of GREAT Hawke’s Bay Businesses.
Held on Friday 16thNovember at the Clubs Hastings Venue this event showcased businesses and business people meeting International standards in commerce.
Overall Winner – PAN PAC Supreme Business for 2018 ‘Hawke’s Bay Technologies’ is a very worthy winner among a very strong portfolio of companies.
Hawke’s Bay Technologies (HBT) was formed by Duncan Wallace and his wife Amanda in 2004. Since inception, their ability to forge positive relationships with a real focus on the customer has seen them continually grow. Congratulations Duncan, Amanda and the Team at HBT.

Starting with a team of 4 in 2007 their fresh and open approach to providing managed office services has led to more than 600 customers changing to HB technologies for their office technology support.
The judges commended their well-researched and developed systems with processes that have been designed to best fit the business and its stakeholders. They have a truly team-focused approach to how they go to market with customer service, team voice, and innovation all equally valued.

Passionate, Humble, Kind, Gentle, Respected, Connector and Great Role Model are some of the many words used to describe this year’s recipient of the Linden Estate Leadership Awards, a big personality with a huge heart for the development of youth, business and communities.
Pushing forward for the sake of the children, youth, families and community, he built a platform for change for the development and future of the local community. Not one to avoid a sticky situation this leader proudly stood for positive futures and facilitated many employment opportunities.
Our celebrated leader envisioned the future for Whakatu. With some community funding, Whakatu Action Group was formed with partners, TPK and HDC. Its goal was to employ a local Whakatu person who knew the community, its needs and aspirations to establish a plan called ETU Whakatu 20/20.
After his time in the Military, this year’s recipient returned to the centre of his universe with great initiatives to bring life back into the community that had slowed following the closure of the Whakatu meat works.
The organiser of the inaugural Whakatu Christmas in the Park event in 2003, he has given significant service to the development of the Whakatu community over the past 14 years.
He chaired Whakatu Kohanga Reo for 10 years, reviving it from a struggling early childhood education provider to a successful learning nest.
The Whakatu Acton Group was formed and has been successfully creating succession plans for the people and community of Whakatu for 12 years thanks to the work of our recipient.
The instigator of Trade training courses, Business Workshops, Industry employment options within and outside his beloved community, this year’s Linden Estate Leadership Award recipient is Des Ratima ONZM.
The values of this family run business have stayed with the organisation as it has grown.
The Judges were also impressed with the degree of innovation within the business, they felt that HB Technology showed an inspiring level of insight into the ever-changing needs of the market, their customers, and their team and had adapted well in the world of fast-changing technology.
This will mean that we continue to see them grow and contribute to the Hawkes Bay economy into the future.
