Cyber Security Workshop. EVENT POSTPONED
Your business depends on technology. In every corner of Hawke’s Bay, small to large businesses are implementing new technologies to compete in the local, and global markets, and that invites risk.
This hands-on workshop is intended for business decision-makers wishing to understand and adopt a protective posture to help guard their business against cyberthreats. During this time together, we will work through easy to use self-assessment tools, suitable for small and large organizations, to put you on the path to self-assess your businesses cybersecurity.
First hour: Using presentations, videos, discussions, we will explore the fundamentals of cybersecurity so that you know WHAT you need to accomplish, and HOW to get started.
Second hour: Using hands-on tools, we will look at cybersecurity risks and the impact analysis, and how they apply to your business.
Third hour: With an understanding of risk and threat impact, we will look at policies and standards, and other measures you should employ to establish a protective posture.
Fourth hour: We’ll wrap up with an understanding of what to do when an incident occurs. How to establish a Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans. At the end, we’ll look at a cybersecurity threat to people and business that nobody is talking about.
This hands-on workshop is aimed at all business decision-makers; from Board members to small business owners, no IT experience is necessary for this workshop, and you should plan on attending.
Dr. Tom Hartley has over 12 years of industry experience in cybersecurity, and he is the Senior Lecturer at EIT for Cybersecurity. Tom is the Chairperson for EIT’s Cybersecurity Committee and runs a small business as a consultant on Cybersecurity practices to organizations in Hawke’s Bay including the Napier Port.
