Exporting offers one of the few opportunities for Hawke’s Bay businesses to significantly add value to the region’s economy. • In Australia only 4% of companies export
• In Australia 1 in 5 jobs depend on exports. In regional areas, the figure is 1 in 4 jobs

The world is constantly changing and many new exporting opportunities are opening up for New Zealand businesses. For example, barriers to trade are gradually reducing and information and communication technologies are simplifying the world into a series of time zones. This is an opportunity as much as a threat and allows New Zealand businesses to operate globally without having to move offshore.
