Schools

E4E is a new direction for schools to support learning in the 21st century, focusing on developing in students the capacity to learn, through enterprising ways of teaching and learning.

Student success in an uncertain future will depend upon:

  • Their ability to continually learn new skills
  • Being able to adapt to change
  • Technological literacy
  • Generating, identifying and assessing opportunities

By adopting an enterprising approach to teaching and learning, the school curriculum becomes more relevant to students resulting in them becoming more confident and resourceful about their learning.
But the curriculum alone will not be sufficient to deliver all the requirements of future employees and support and engagement with communities is required to provide a complete foundation as new challenges and opportunities arise.

By establishing meaningful partnerships with community organisations and business to provide authentic learning opportunities, learning is not confined to isolation within school walls.

This may involve making fundamental changes in the way the school views and operates its curriculum and its organisation by adopting flexible learning approaches that challenge traditional relationships between teachers and students.

Teachers become facilitators rather than instructors of student learning with the aim to increase their capacity to become enterprising learners, responsible for their own achievements.
