The Hawke’s Bay Chamber of Commerce is part of a global Chamber network that assists in exporting, importing and many other matters related to international trade.

A large number of exporters from the Bay and indeed elsewhere in New Zealand use the Certificates of Origin service when exporting goods to countries that require independent verification of New Zealand origin of goods.

Every morning exporters send in their certificates which are processed and collected or couriered back to the firms.

The system works on approved signatories being held in various countries and regular contact with embassies and customs officials. Being a Chamber member means that this service is at a discounted rate.
 
The Chamber also arranges:

ATA Carnets so that you do not have to pay duties or taxes on samples and products used in trade shows. This service now is available for an ever increasing group of countries including Chile, Ukraine and Pakistan who have joined the system recently.
A Carnet is useful even if you are taking your goods to a non-member country as it save filling our import and export entry forms with customs when leaving or entering New Zealand;

Letters of introduction to foreign Chambers to assist Hawke’s Bay members when visiting other countries;

Letters of invitations for business delegations to New Zealand;

Certification of member and non-members visa applications when required to other countries
