Results from pilot projects in different countries as well as the project currently running in four areas of New Zealand, show the impact enterprise teaching and learning is having on both teachers and students. For more information visit the E4E - Ministry of Education website.
It has changed the perspective of students learning, engaging them more in the process and producing an improved attitude toward their learning. Involvement in E4E activities appears to support students to make important decisions about their learning, to be self motivated, self deter mining and motivated to leave school with higher personal aspirations.
Students are acquiring skills, attributes and qualifications to meet the challenges of their future, along with a goal for lifelong learning and contribution to their community.
Research into enterprise education has shown that it is also helping to engage at-risk students and connect them to school and community by creating a culture of learning that increases their sense of self-responsibility and self-direction.
The future is going to be more complex and diverse, rapidly paced and technologically driven as well as globally connected. Young people who are confident, connected, actively involved and prepared to be lifelong learners will lead and progress our country well, going into the 21st century.
